The controversial Donegal poet Cathal O Searcaigh is to break his silence for the first time today following the documentary revealing his relationships with teenage boys in Nepal.

O Searcaigh has not spoken publicly since the 'Fairytale of Kathmandu' documentary revealed that he had been having sex with the boys during visits to the impoverished south Asian nation.

However, Radio na Gaeltachta is due to broadcast a pre-recorded interview with him later this morning.

O Searcaigh has admitted having sex with teenagers and young men in Nepal, all of whom were above the local age of consent, which is 16 years.
