Taxi driver 'was chased before fatal stabbing'
Gardaí believe the taxi driver stabbed to death last night was chased from his car after a row broke out with a number of people.
Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the fatal stabbing in west Dublin where the 31-year-old man was attacked at Fortlawn Avenue in Blanchardstown just after 10pm.
Early reports had suggested that the victim may have been pursuing a passenger who failed to pay a fare, but gardaí say he was not working at the time of the incident.
He is believed to have had a number of people in his car when a row broke out, causing him to flee the vehicle.
He was then chased down the road and stabbed several times before collapsing in the front garden of a house.
Gardaí say they are following a definite line of inquiry.
