Man arrested in connection with car hijacking in Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man following a car hijacking in the south of the city this morning.

The incident happened at around 7.30am at the crossroads between Rathfarnam and Tallaght.

A man apparently held the driver of a red Audi at gunpoint before fleeing the scene in the car.

The garda helicopter was called to the scene and a man was arrested a short time later before being brought to Tallaght garda station for questioning.
