Gardaí identify man killed in suspected Real IRA shooting

Gardaí say they have identified the man who was shot dead near the Co Donegal village of Castlefinn last night.

Gardaí say they have identified the man who was shot dead near the Co Donegal village of Castlefinn last night.

The victim was 27 years old, but Gardaí say they will not be releasing his name until his family has been notified.

He is believed to be from Strabane.

The man was found with gunshot wounds near a local church in Donnyloop at around 7.30pm.

Reports this morning say he may have been killed by the Real IRA on suspicion of being an informer.
