Van found in Foley shooting investigation
Gardaí investigating the gun attack on convicted criminal Martin "The Viper" Foley have recovered a vehicle believed to have been used by the gunman.
The 55-year-old was hit at least six times after up to 10 shots were fired at him from a handgun as he left a gym on Kimmage Road West, Dublin yesterday afternoon.
He was shot in the shoulder at least three times, once in the hip and two bullets entered his lower back.
It is the fourth time that Foley, who has dozens of criminal convictions, has been shot.
Forensic officers were tonight examining a white Ford van found abandoned in Wainsfort Road in nearby Terenure. It is believed the gunman transferred to another car at this location.
Investigating officers today held a case conference in Crumlin garda station and reissued appeals for information.
Foley remains in a critical condition at St James' Hospital where his private ward is under armed guard.
Gardaí have not yet made any arrests.
