Man held after theft of cash box from security guard

Gardaí have arrested a 29-year-old man following the theft of a cash box from a cash-in-transit worker in Dublin city centre this morning.

A lone raider stole the cash box from a security guard who was loading an ATM on Prussia Street shortly after 7am.

The man is believed to have been unarmed and the security guard did not suffer any injuries.

The 29-year-old was arrested in a house off the North Circular Road shortly after the robbery and the cash box was recovered.
