A chronic heroin addict who chased a 13-year-old boy wielding a knife and hammer and "terrorised" the boys’ sisters during a burglary has been given a 13-year sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

A chronic heroin addict who chased a 13-year-old boy wielding a knife and hammer and "terrorised" the boys’ sisters during a burglary has been given a 13-year sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Mervin White (aged 27), of Corduff Park, Blanchardstown also went on a 13-week robbery spree in west Dublin with a butcher’s knife in order to feed his €75-a-day habit.
