Hanafin denies Govt U-turn on school water charges

Education Minister Mary Hanafin has denied that the Government has been forced into an embarrassing U-turn on the issue of water charges for schools.

Yesterday, the Taoiseach announced that schools would be given a two-year exemption from usage-based water charges and would only have to pay a flat rate instead.
