Eight arrested in connection with murder of Dundalk man
Gardaí in Co Louth have arrested eight people in connection with the murder of a 37-year-old man in Dundalk almost a year ago.
Aidan Myers, who was from the town, died after he being attacked with a machete and run over by a car in Faughart on December 12 last year.
A second man survived the assault, but suffered serious injuries.
The attack is believed to have been linked to a spate of car hijackings in the town earlier in the evening.
Four men aged between 19 and 26 were arrested today on suspicion of the murder, while two men aged 23 and 25 and two women aged 33 and 46 were detained on suspicion of withholding information about the murder.
