Man in hospital after Clondalkin shooting

A 27-year-old man is recovering in hospital tonight after a shooting in West Dublin.

A number of shots were fired through the front window of a house on Monksfield Lawn, Clondalkin, injuring the victim who was in the downstairs front room.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí in Clondalkin are investigating the shooting, that occurred at around 5.30pm.

"The scene is being preserved and the incident is under investigation," said a Garda spokesman.

"No arrests have been made."
