The man, in his early 70s, died when he was struck by a vehicle travelling on the N18 Limerick to Ennis bound lane.
The accident happened shortly after 8pm at Setrights Cross, Portdrine.

Meanwhile, officers are continuing to probe the death of a 21-year-old in Co Donegal in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Three other men were also injured in the collision at Drumhaggart, Burnfoot.
Gardaí in Tipperary have also named the two 58-year-old women killed in Friday’s multiple car crash at Roscrea as Safiyaben Daruwala and Farida Dholkawala.
