Limerick shooting leaves man injured
Gardaí in Limerick are investigating a shooting incident in the city.
One man was injured following a disturbance in the estate of Hyde Avenue last night.
Gardaí received reports of gun fire in the Hyde Road area of the West inner city just before 10 pm.
When they arrived on the scene the shooters had already fled.
Shortly afterwards, a man presented himself at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick with gun shot wounds to the hand and to the back of the neck.
The 38-year-old is now said to be in a stable condition and is expected to be released later.
It's not believed the shooting is linked to any gangland activity in the region.
