Gardaí in south Dublin have reopened a northbound section of the M50 motorway following an incident that caused significant traffic delays this morning.

Details of the incident have not been disclosed, but it prompted gardaí to close off the bridge at Cabinteely and divert all traffic via the N11.

Motorists are being warned to expect knock-on delays in the area for much of the morning.
