Cowen insists Govt is working to tackle gun crime
The Tánaiste has insisted that the Government is doing all it can to rid society of gun crime.
Brian Cowen was reacting to questions in the Dáil this morning about the latest shooting incident in Dublin.
A 48-year-old businessman was shot in both legs in the Inchicore area of the city last night by raiders who broke into his family home.
The shooting was the third in the capital in as many days.
Despite this, Mr Cowen says the Government is determined to rid society of gun crime and has undertaken "an unprecedented programme of resourcing the Gardai and reforming the criminal justice system".
