Man dies after construction site accident in Co Kerry

A man died yesterday following a workplace accident in Castleisland, Co Kerry.

29-year-old Tom Mitchell from Currow was working on a building site when a trench collapsed on top of him.

The accident happened yesterday afternoon at around 4pm.

Mr Mitchell was attended to by a doctor but was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem is due to be carried out at Kerry General Hospital.
