Gardaí seek information on Athlone 'kidnap' incident

Gardaí are appealing for the public's help in relation to an apparent kidnapping in Athlone earlier this week.

A number of people saw a young man dressed in a Roscommon GAA jersey being bundled into the boot of a silver/grey saloon-type car.

The incident happened on Northgate Street at around 9pm on Tuesday night.

Two men are believed to have been travelling in the car, which drove off in the direction of Coosan.
