East Galway road accident brings overnight death toll to five

A man in his 20s has been killed in a road accident in east Co Galway.

It's understood that he died in a single-vehicle crash at Carrinderry near Williamstown, sometime between midnight and 8am this morning.

Gardaí in Tuam are investigating.

It brings to five the number of people killed on the country’s roads overnight.

Three of the fatalities occurred in separate accidents in Co Galway.
