Minister urged to deliver on promises for older people
A number of groups are meeting the new Junior Minister for Older People, Máire Hoctor today to urge her to deliver on the Government's promises to senior citizens.
Age Action Ireland says it wants to see Máire Hoctor appoint an ombudsman and establish a national office for older people.
It says an ombudsman is particularly needed to advocate for older people and to ensure that senior citizens are taken into account when government policies are drawn up.
