Locals not consulted over plans for gas electricity plant in Galway
There is controversy in Co Galway over plans for a €300m gas powered electricity generating plant.
The Quinn Group is planning the venture as it wants to enter the electricity market here.
It is also proposing a second plant for Co Louth.
Locals in Derrydonnell, Co Galway, say they haven't been consulted.
An Bord Pleanála is assessing the proposals.
Quinn Group technical director Ciaran Leonard has said they will be happy to discuss their plans, which are in the very early stages.
