Gardaí investigate serious assault in Co. Tipperary

Gardaí are investigating a serious assault on a woman in Roscrea, County Tipperary in the early hours of the morning.

It happened at around two o' clock in Madden's Lane in the town, as people started to filter out of local nightclubs.

The victim is said to be recovering from the attack, but has not been to hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area to contact them in Roscrea station.
