Garda car rammed by truck at checkpoint
Gardaí are hunting a truck driver who rammed a patrol car at a checkpoint in Co Meath early today.
The incident happened at around 4.30am in the Painstown area, on the Dublin Road south of Drogheda.
Officers manning the checkpoint signalled for a truck to pull over and stop, but the driver reversed back at speed and crashed into a patrol car.
Two gardaí had to jump out of the way to avoid the vehicle, which was later found abandoned in the middle of the road near Julianstown.
