Enda Kenny storms to victory in Mayo
Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has been elected after the first count in the five-seat Mayo constituency with an excess of nearly 3,000 votes.
He topped the poll with 14,717 votes as running mate Michael Ring came in second with 11,412 votes, just over 400 votes short of the 11,898 quota.
Fianna Fáil's Dara Calleary is third with 7,225 votes while Fine Gael's third candidate John O'Mahony is next on 6,869 votes.
Independent candidate Beverly Flynn with 6,779 votes comes ahead of Fianna Fáil's John Carthy who has 5,889 votes.
