Man arrested in connection with death of Mayo farmer

Gardaí in Mayo have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the death of 72-year-old farmer over the weekend.

John Gaughan was found dead outside his home in Blacksod, on the Erris Peninsula, on Sunday afternoon.

The man being questioned about his death was arrested in the Blacksod area at around 10.30pm last night and is being held at Belmullet Garda Station.
