Gardaí investigate shooting at Galway house

Gardaí in Galway have begun an investigation into a shooting in the Ballybane area of the city last night.

A shot was fired through the downstairs window of a house in Ard Alainn just after 8pm.

A number of men were seen driving from the scene in a dark coloured car.

There were people in the house at the time but nobody was injured in the incident.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
