New legislation to close loophole in child protection laws

The Government is due to rush new emergency legislation through the Dáil today to close a loophole in child protection laws.

The loophole, which means it is not a specific crime to solicit a child for sex, was pointed out last week by Labour Party leader Pat Rabbitte.
