Woman quizzed over stabbing murder

A woman was being questioned today over the murder of a man in an apartment in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, overnight.

Gardaí arrived at the flat in Mitchell Street at around 3.30am and found the man, in his 30s, dead inside.

It was believed he had been stabbed.

The woman, in her late 30s, was arrested at the scene and was in custody at Clonmel Garda Station.

She was being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí said the scene was preserved for technical examination and the State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy was due to arrive at the scene later.
