The Labour Party will treble the number of community gardaí if put into power in May, leader Pat Rabbitte claimed today.

Insisting it was a personal priority, Mr Rabbitte said radical changes in the manning, deployment and organisation of An Garda Síochána would have a huge impact on quality of life, crime rates and anti-social behaviour.
