Rescuers search Liffey for missing Kildare man

A search has begun in Co Kildare after a man fell into the River Liffey in the early hours of this morning.

The alarm was raised when the man's brother reported the incident to gardaí in Newbridge, according to local reports.

It is believed he entered the water at around 2am.

The Air Support unit carried out a search of the area this morning and the Garda water unit has been requested.
