Martin Sheen in tearful tribute to young road crash victim

Hollywood star Martin Sheen has paid a tearful tribute to a young Irish journalist who died in a car accident last week.

Donna Ferguson had interviewed the actor during his study time at NUI Galway, while she was working for the college magazine.

The 24-year-old from Co Fermanagh died in a crash while driving to work a week ago.

Mr Sheen, who is currently in Dublin to promote his new movie Bobby, became emotional yesterday while telling journalists about the day she died.

"As a father, you just can't imagine what that's like for a parent at Christmas," he said. "She was so bubbly and enthusiastic."
