Murder investigation launched after attacked Dublin man dies

A murder investigation has been launched in Dublin after a man who was assaulted in the Inchicore area of the city last weekend died in St James Hospital overnight.

The 21-year-old was found with serious head injuries in a laneway off the Tyrconnell Road last Friday night.

Gardaí in Kilmainham are now treating his death as murder, and a full investigation is underway.

A post mortem on his body will be carried out tomorrow.
