New speed-camera network to tackle high risk roads

Gardaí have taken the first steps in setting up a network of speed cameras that will target high-risk roads around the country.

As part of their plan to privatise the operation of speed cameras across the country, gardaí have published an information document for companies interested in tendering the camera contract, which will initially be offered for five years, with a possible one year extension.
