Brother of Latvian murder victim meets with gardaí

The brother of the Latvian woman shot dead in Swords on Sunday night has arrived in Ireland along with his wife.

The brother of the Latvian woman shot dead in Swords on Sunday night has arrived in Ireland along with his wife.

They have already met with gardaí investigating the case, and with officials from the Latvian Embassy here.

The Embassy is also in constant contact with Baiba Saulite's mother back in Latvia, who is said to be devastated by the killing.

Spokesperson for the Latvian Embassy in Dublin Ivars Lassis says plans are now being made to bring her body home but it could be some days before a decision is made on releasing the body.
