Man to face court on drugs charges

A man is due in court today in connection with a drugs seizure in Co Meath.

The 33-year-old, who was arrested on Friday night, will appear before a special sitting of Kells District Court.

Gardaí in Kells seized a quantity of cannabis resin after a planned search of a house in Magdeline Court in the town.

In a follow up search of another house in the Kells area two bags of what is believed to be speed were discovered.

It is thought the drugs could have a street value of up to €30,000.

The raids were part of a local garda crackdown on drug operations in Meath.
