Body of acrobat flown to Russia

The body of the Russian acrobat killed in Monday's tragic circus accident in Co Clare has been flown home from Dublin today, as his family makes arrangements for his funeral.

The body of the Russian acrobat killed in Monday's tragic circus accident in Co Clare has been flown home from Dublin today, as his family makes arrangements for his funeral.

Services for the late Vitaly Khrapavitski are expected to be held in Minsk in Belarus after his body arrives home, while Masses in Scarriff will be dedicated to him this weekend.

The Royal Russian Circus has cancelled eight local shows while the Health and Safety Authority investigates the fatal accident, but insists shows will resume in Ennis next week.

Spokesperson John Conway said it hass been a tough decision, but circus staff need to get back to work despite the shock that has been caused by the accident.
