Garda investigations after body of man, 60s, discovered at Cavan property 

A technical examination of the scene has been carried out and a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to lead the investigation.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body at a residential property in Cavan late last week.

The body of the man, who was aged in his 60s, was discovered on Saturday at a property in Ballyjamesduff.

The man's body was transferred to the mortuary at Our Lady’s Hospital Navan, where an autopsy was carried out by the State Pathologist.

The results of the autopsy are not being released for operational reasons.

A technical examination of the scene has been carried out and a senior investigating officer (SIO) has been appointed to lead the investigation.

An incident room has also been established at Bailieborough Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact them.

Any road users or pedestrians who were in the area of the Kilmore estate between 6pm and midnight on Saturday, who may have camera footage including dash-cam, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
