No Legionnaire's Disease cases after pool scare
No further cases of Legionnaire's Disease have been detected since the discovery of the deadly bacteria in a Co Donegal swimming pool.
GPs in the north-west are still on the lookout for potential cases of the illness.
The Health Service Executive said it is continuing to monitor the situation after the bacteria was detected in the Redcastle Hotel near Moville.
The saltwater heated pool has been closed since the HSE detected the bacteria following tests in July, which were sparked by a case of the disease in a hospital in Co Derry.
It is understood that the patient, who is a relative of Fianna Fáil TD Cecile Keaveny, has been released from hospital and is in recovery.
The illness, which has a 10% death rate, is contracted through inhaled water droplets and has an incubation period of two to 10 days.
A spokesperson for the HSE said the pool would remain closed until there is no further trace of the Legionnaire's bacteria.
