Gardaí investigate suspicious death in Kerry

Gardaí in Co Kerry are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Tralee early this morning.

The man, who was in his 50s, was found injured in the Bridge Street area at around 2am and died a short time later at Kerry General Hospital.

The dead man is from Tralee, but his name is being withheld until all next of kin are informed.

Gardaí say they are treating the case as suspicious and are appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward.

The area where the man's body was found has been sealed off pending technical examination and a post mortem will be carried out later today to determine the cause of death.
