No progress on repatriation of Dublin woman from Ecuador
The campaign to repatriate of a Dublin-born mother-of-two who is serving eight years in a jail in Ecuador for alleged drug smuggling continues to be hampered.
Thirty-one-year-old Roisín Zoe Savage was jailed in 2003 after a visit to the South American country, but she claims the cocaine was planted on her by a friend.
The latest from the Department of Justice is that the Ecuadorian authorities have not yet sent the transfer documentation needed.
Ecuador signed up to an international convention on the repatriation of prisoners last year.
