Man appears before court after Clare drugs seizure

A man is appearing before the District court in Clare charged in connection with a major drugs haul yesterday.

The seizure of cannabis, cocaine, amphetamines and ecstasy worth four million euros was found when gardaí stopped and searched a van in the Killaloe area.

Officers from the National Drugs Unit and local gardaí carried out the operation.

The man, who is believed to be in his 40s and from the east Clare area, was arrested and detained in Killaloe garda station.
