230,000 migrants working in Ireland

The number of migrant workers living in Ireland has reached a record level.

In total, 65,000 Eastern Europeans were given PPS numbers in the first six months of this year, most of them from Poland.

Of the 230,000 who have registered to work here in the last two and a half years, just 2,000 are on the live register.
