McDowell to open centre for victims of gay hate crime

The Minister for Justice Michael McDowell is due to open a new drop-in service later today as part of efforts to tackle gay hate crimes.

The garda project will be piloted in Dublin for a year before being rolled out nationally if it proves a success.
