Church advised to use Da Vinci code film for its own ends
The Catholic Church is being advised to use the forthcoming Da Vinci Code film as an opportunity to highlight its stance on the issues raised in the book.
While some priests have been urging people to boycott the movie on the grounds that some of it is heretical, Gary O Sullivan, the editor of the Irish Catholic says the Church should and is well able to answer the questions raised.
Mr O’Sullivan said: “The Church in the past hasn't been very good at answering those questions, did Jesus rise from the dead? Dan Brown says that he didn't, he said he married Mary Magdelene, sired some children and that was the end of it.
“The Church has very good answers to these things and should be putting them out there and using it as an opportunity to evangelize people.”
