Prison officers want smoking ban extended to jails

The Irish Prison Officers Association is calling for the workplace smoking ban to be extended to include all of Ireland's jails.

Such facilities were excluded from the ban when it was introduced two years ago amid fears that it would cause undue hardship for prisoners.
