TUI seeks equal rights and resources for PLC students

The Teachers' Union of Ireland is calling for equal rights and facilities for students in Post-Leaving Cert courses.

The union is making the call ahead of its annual conference in Kerry next week.

It wants the Government to implement the McGiver Report issued three years ago, which said students in PLC courses should have the same rights and resources as those in universities and institutes of technology.

The TUI has expressed disappointment with the Government's failure to make any provision to implement the recommendation in last December's budget.
