Latvian man dies following assault

Gardaí were investigating today after a Latvian man died after he was assaulted at a house in north Dublin.

The man, who was in his 20s, was discovered lying in an upstairs bedroom in a house on Ardcollum Avenue, Artane, just before 9am.

He was removed to Beaumont Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and a post mortem exam is to be arranged.
