Review recommends major civilianisation of garda duties

A review compiled for the Government has reportedly recommended a significant programme of civilianisation within the Gardaí.

Reports this morning said the study into the modernisation of the Gardaí had recommended that work such as forensic examinations and intelligence analysis could be carried out by civilians rather than fully-trained officers.
