Investigation underway into Sligo gun attack

Gardaí in Sligo are investigating a shooting in the town overnight.

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was fired at a number of times in the Cranmore area of the town, shortly after 11pm.

It is understood that the victim received wounds to the arm and stomach, and is being treated at Sligo General Hospital.
