A 28-year-old Co Kilkenny man has drowned while on holidays with friends in Australia.

Bill Gaule, from Kilmacow, died in an accident over the weekend. Further details about the incident are not immediately available.

Mr Gaule had travelled to Sydney for a six-week holiday with friends.
