Youth arrested over gun attack on home of FF councillor

Gardaí in Co Clare have arrested a 17-year-old youth in connection with a gun attack on the home of a Fianna Fail town councillor earlier this week.

Gardaí in Co Clare have arrested a 17-year-old youth in connection with a gun attack on the home of a Fianna Fáil town councillor earlier this week.

Two shots were fired through the front window of Stephen O'Gorman's house in Kilrush on Wednesday night by a lone youth wielding a double-barrelled shotgun.

Mr O'Gorman was at home with his wife and two daughters at the time, but nobody was injured.

The motive for the shooting is not known.
