Shots fired at home of Clare FF town councillor

Gardaí in Co Clare are investigating an overnight gun attack on the home of a Fianna Fáil councillor in Kilrush.

Two shots were fired through the front window of town councillor Stephen O'Gorman's house on Sycamore Drive last night. Nobody was injured in the shooting.

Gardaí are still trying to determine a motive for the attack, which was carried out by a lone youth wielding a shotgun.

Mr O'Gorman's home has been targeted on a number of previous occasions, while his daughter was assaulted by two youths earlier this year.
